No longer content with nuclear weapons, Kim Jong-un wants North Korea to be world power in mushrooms
UNICEF filed a report in April that said six million people in the country of 24 million don’t have enough to eat.
With a pledge to make North Korea a “world famous mushroom producer,” dictator Kim Jong-un has added a personal touch by providing “field guidance” to poverty-stricken country’s first mushroom research centre.
The newly built Central Mushroom Research Institute of the State Academy of Sciences “is a mushroom research centre built according to the noble intention of Kim Jong-un [of] making a new history of industrialization of mushroom growing,” said a statement from the state-run Korean Central News Agency.
The agency released photos of Kim touring the 6,100 square-metre facility Monday, where it was said he was pleased not only with the facility’s research labs but its corridors and “resting places.”
Becoming a mushroom powerhouse was apparently the wish of Kim’s grandfather.
